WSPA News 7 featured the "Cyclepaths," a popular cycling group at Tryon Estates in its special "Hometown Spotlight."

Hometown Spotlight with the "Cyclepaths"

A group of older adults is pushing the limits when it comes to exercise and aging at the Tryon Estates retirement community. They're called the Cyclepaths, a group of ten or so cyclists at the retirement community who ride weekly, around the Tryon, Columbus area in North Carolina.

Reporter Christine Scarpelli and Photojournalist Ryan Goodman went live all morning from Tryon Estates. Residents and staff made multiple live appearances in the four-hour morning program.

Interviews included Dee James, Executive Director; Joan Beck, Life Care Consultant; Caroline Eller, Fitness Trainer; and numerous residents who spoke about being active in cycling, kayaking, zip-lining, line dancing and brain health classes, all offered at Tryon Estates.

WSPA also aired a full report on the Cyclepaths in its noon show. You can watch all the videos here.
