UPDATE (Feb. 6, 5:30 p.m.): All residents and staff are safe and sound following the tornado that touched down in the Matthews, NC area on Thursday morning. Matthews Glen is currently without power but back-up generators are fully operational and all routine services within the community are being delivered by staff. Crews are working to restore full power to the campus as quickly as possible, and the community has sustained no damage beyond some landscaping issues. Phone service into the community has not been impacted.
