Acts Lanier Village Estates was recently featured on FOX 5 Atlanta (WAGA-TV) for hosting a “Yappy Hour” in celebration of National Pet Month and Older Americans Month.
In partnership with the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, the event focused on this year’s Older Americans Month theme, “Champion Your Health,” while showcasing the positive role companion animals play in supporting emotional wellness, social connection, and quality of life for older adults.
Residents enjoyed time with their own pets alongside adoptable animals from the Humane Society, while learning more about the health benefits of animal companionship and the importance of pet adoption in our local community.

Being pet-friendly is part of who we are at Acts. Pets are woven into daily life, and many of our campuses even have their own dog parks. Every day, we see the meaningful impact animals have on our residents by encouraging activity, creating connection, and providing comfort and companionship.
We were thrilled to host this “Yappy Hour” alongside the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia. The event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the special bond between residents and their pets while also supporting animals in need of loving homes.
Across all Acts communities, we are committed to supporting whole-person wellness — and for many residents, that includes the joy and companionship of a pet.
