"Our K4 app has all the nutritional information of the menu, from our recipe ingredients, to allergens, and a list of nutrients much like what you would find on a food label," Herrstrom said. This allows residents to make food choices that align with their individual needs.
While the integration of technology is yet another popular senior dining trend, it doesn’t replace the need for real life advice from trained experts. Acts residents have access to registered dietitians, free of charge , to help them with nutritional guidance.
"We offer a robust menu that rivals many high-end restaurants; in fact, we often are among the best restaurants in town in some areas,” Herrstrom said. “Our restaurants offer plenty of choices with more cooked-to-order options, which makes it even easier to customize an individual’s dietary needs."
