14 Plantation Estates Hosts a 5K Run Plantation Estates hosted its first-annual 5K for “The Longest Day,” successfully raising more than $13,600 in the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease. More than 100 residents, staff and friends came out early to walk, run, line dance, and raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association, and the larger cause of research and awareness. Local media was there to cover the story from every angle, including one particularly amazing resident, Bob Hamrin, who was interviewed for running the full 3 miles at 84 years old. Chicken Chase Raises Money at Lanier Village Lanier Village Estates recently had a “Chicken Chase” run fundraiser, complete with chicken tutu costumes, to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. For this fun run, Lanier staff led the way as mascots, as residents and staff cheered the chickens on and donated along the way. Several- dozen residents enjoyed the efforts of staff and volunteers, along with the two sponsors, Mar-Jac Poultry and Chick-fil-A. More than $3,000 dollars was raised through this year’s Chicken Chase.
