today. The doorbell blares. Security is bringing me a package. This time it is a heart monitor sent because I can’t get to the hospital for my 6-month pacemaker check-up. I open the box and know
I need help. I call my son. He is not upset that I have bothered him at work but recognizes my angst, goes on his computer, and downloads the manual to guide me in what I need to do. I follow his advice, check in with the hospital technician and together we make it work. I am so grateful for the help.
No, I am not really alone. It just feels that way. I remember my college president’s words during stressful times: “This too shall pass.”
