"The first time I walked through the door, I felt so at home," said Aryne Shoiock who has called Edgewater at Boca Pointe her home for twelve years. "Do you know how long it took me to adjust to this community? 60 seconds!"
Moving from a large house, Arlyne found herself pleasantly surprised at how seamlessly she adapted to her new lifestyle. "I thought that I would miss my home, but I didn't miss it at all because I have everything here without the stress of going out and having to shop and cook. It’s a different lifestyle; a very easy lifestyle. And I think it adds years to your life."
What sets Edgewater apart, according to Arlyne, is not just the luxurious amenities but the sense of community. "Everyone was so friendly, we're a family."
The strength of the community became especially apparent during a challenging time in Arlyne's life. "When my husband passed away, I was very lucky to be here because I was never alone. Everybody called me, invited me to tables. It was just a wonderful, wonderful experience for me."

Aryne also embraced all the many social opportunities Edgewater offers, a variety of entertainment and plethura of events. She also enjoys the convenience of having delicious chef-prepared meals and comfortable transportation for many interests. "Even though I have a car and drive, I never had to, " she said. "And I never have to drive at night because Acts transportation will take you to the theater, dinners, lunches, museums, a lot of wonderful things."
"You can be busy all day and all night because they also bring in [to the community] wonderful entertainment and educational opportunities" she added.
As Arlyne reflects on her twelve years at Edgewater, she has no regrets.
"I’ve lived here 12 years and it seems like only three days, it went so fast," Arlyne said. "And if I had to do it all over again, I would do exactly the same thing."
