Why Did You Decide to Join the Acts Board?
My introduction to CCRCs was as the granddaughter of grandparents and the daughter of parents who chose life care plans in an Acts community, formerly a PUMH community. I experienced, first hand, the Loving-Kindness and social interaction offered in a Christian environment and high-quality continuum of services provided to residents. I am honored to share my gifts of clinical and management experience to be of service to the Acts organization, residents and employees.
Donald Davis
Donald Davis is a retired shareholder in the accounting firm of Asher & Company, Ltd. Don has served on the Acts Board since 1994, during which time he served as Chairman, Treasurer and Chairman of the Board’s Finance and Audit Committee. Don also served
on the Board of the Mid-Atlantic United Methodist Foundation for close to 10 years. Don earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Finance from Wilkes University. He served as 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 and is a Vietnam Veteran. Don
is a Certified Public Accountant and remains active in the greater community through his involvement in various accounting professional associations.
Why Did You Decide to Join the Acts Board?
On one of my initial visits to the Acts corporate headquarters, I noticed the inscription from Micah
6:8 over the entrance “What is required of thee? To be fair and just and merciful and to walk humbly with your God.” I learned more about Acts when I met with former Acts CEOs George Gunn and
Marvin Mashner, about the mission and vision of Acts and its commitment to caring for residents and employees. I was inspired to become a part of the Acts culture of fairness and Loving-Kindness and it became my opportunity to give back to the overall community by interacting with residents and using
the talents God gave me for the betterment of the Acts organization. Over the years, it has been a great honor to serve on the Acts Board to further this important mission on behalf of residents and employees.
