Honoring the Veterans of The Evergreens In June, veterans from The Evergreens participated in the Honor Flight of southern New Jersey to Washington, D.C. The large group took in the awe-inspiring memorials around the nation’s capital. Philadelphia’s ABC affiliate station happened to be in D.C., covering the 75th anniversary of D-Day and posted photos of the South Jersey contingent online. Thank you to all our veterans for your service! Veterans Walter Lesniowski, Vic Dowdell, Tom Jackson, Steve Smith and Lucas Bazin were joined by members of The Evergreens staff and family on the incredible trip to D.C. Finding Beauty in the Rain Granite Farms Estates embraced the rainy season with a fun Umbrella event. Residents and staff created 23 unique umbrellas that were displayed for their neighbors. More than 450 votes were submitted to select a favorite, which was claimed by Leslie Rose’s “Singing in the Rain” umbrella. 100 Years in the Making: The Evergreens Opens Centennial Exhibit The Evergreens held a ribbon-cutting and flag- raising ceremony to officially open the community’s Centennial Exhibit. Items dating back to the community’s founding in 1919 are among some of the many cherished pieces on display. 9
