                                                       J. Mark Vanderbeck Memorial Scholarship Awards
Mark Vanderbeck served Acts Retirement-Life Communities for more than 20 years. Mark passed away suddenly on May 3, 2017. Mark’s service to Acts, and his over 40 years of service to the senior living industry, was marked with faithful commitment to residents, staff and the future of service delivery. His compassion, joyful nature, and consistent manner of putting others’ needs before his own are ongoing examples of a good and faithful servant.
Mark’s career culminated with time as Chief Executive Officer of Acts. His leadership focused on Acts’ foundational Christian beliefs, the importance of employee growth and succession planning, and maintaining life balance through the established priorities of Faith, Family, Work.
In recognition of Mark’s contribution to Acts and the senior living industry, Acts established the J. Mark Vanderbeck Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Acts Legacy Foundation. This scholarship is designed to promote education and growth of full-time employees at all levels of the organization. The scholarship is awarded annually for
100% of college or graduate school tuition (paid to the educational institution) with a maximum annual award of $10,000.
