If we were asked how Heron Point had impacted our lives six months ago, we would have responded thus: We discovered almost immediately that we had joined a warm, loving community filled with people who became our dear friends. We were given the opportunity
to become involved in favorite activities and to explore new ones. We were soon busier in our retirement years than we ever had been before.
Now we are four months into a situation which none of us could have foretold. When we look at the world around us, we see that COVID-19 is devastating our world. Here, at Heron Point, we have been so well-protected during this time. The regulations have been implemented to keep us safe. Sheltering in place has been made more tolerable by all-day closed circuit television: exercise programs, travelogues, relaxing music and movies. Groceries from
the kitchen have been delivered, along with in-house mail. The community, guided by the administrative staff, has supported what has become “the new normal.”
Heron Point has demonstrated the love for all
of us that we knew has been there, but became even more visible during these difficult times.
We are committed, even more than before, to support the Benevolent Fund both now and in the future with ongoing memorial gifts and with
a Charitable Gift Annuity. Our gifts express our thanks to a community that has given us so much.
David & Sandra Durfee, Heron Point
