P. 3

With Grateful Hearts Dear Friends & Supporters: The scriptures teach us that it is a more blessed experience to give than to receive. It is in this spirit that once again we are humbled by the thousands of residents, employees, and friends of Acts who have contributed to the work and ministry of Acts Retirement-Life Communities over the past year through the Acts Legacy Foundation. The opportunity to express our gratitude is especially satisfying because we are reminded of the many different ways that so many have helped to support our mission through their time and generosity. In 2018, generous donors provided more than $6 million in charitable gifts to the Acts Legacy Foundation. Over $4 million was given in support of a variety of capital campaigns funding specific projects including chapel additions, WillowBrooke Court enhancements, memory support services, and wellness programs. The Acts Samaritan Fund and community-based resident benevolent assistance funds continue to be an important cause. Other charitable funds benefited employees through emergency assistance, the J. Mark Vanderbeck Scholarship Fund, Acts Corporate University, and community scholarship funds. On the following pages, you will see the impact of your giving and hear from some members of the Acts family on why it is important to them to support their community. We express our deepest appreciation for all of the wonderful benefactors who made 2018 the most successful year in the Foundation’s history. As a donor, or as a volunteer, your involvement in fundraising events, annual charitable donations, life-income gifts and estate planning help the organization and our communities continue to grow and flourish. On behalf of the respective Acts Boards and committees, as well as the residents served through your philanthropy and loving-kindness, we thank you for your generosity and support. In gratitude, Marvin Mashner, CPA Chair Acts Legacy Foundation Gerald T.
