Who said turning 62 makes you old?! VERO BEACH, FL – The dance floor was awash in poodle skirts as residents and high school students alike did the jitterbug and twist for what seemed like all night long! The community service project coordinated by 20 Vero Beach High School students and Indian River Estates Resident Services Director Wendy Bushong was a smashing success. The culinary team, led by Jeff Tyler, converted the retirement campus’ café into Tommy’s Diner and served malts, root beer floats, chili dogs and burgers for lunch. A royal court was announced based upon loving-kindness and inner beauty and included Indian River Estates East residents: Hollis and Norma Whitman, Herb and Muncy Chapman, Bob Walsh, Marge Orcutt, Charles McKenzie and Linette Strick. King Jack and Queen Mary Ziegler took the crowns.
Maybe it is the weekly beach walks, arts and crafts get-togethers or trips to the theater and ballet, or maybe it is the myriad of activities for all walks of life that make the residents of Indian River Estates wish they had moved in sooner.
Contrary to popular belief, nestled in the heart of Vero Beach, Indian River Estates is not just fine dining and concierge living; rather it is a place in which resident adventure seekers, fitness buffs, and lovers of the fine arts choose to call home.
