ACTS Celebrates Its Student Servers at Edgewater Pointe

June 28, 2010

Edgewater Pointe Senior ServersBOCA RATON, FL -- Within the beautiful community of Boca Pointe, in the relaxing ACTS Retirement-Life Community of Edgewater Pointe Estates, and through the doors of an elegantly decorated dining room can be found a group of student servers who are beginning the next leg of the exciting journey of life. Edgewater Pointe Estates recently celebrated its dedicated student senior servers at an event that not only thanked them for all of their hard-work but also congratulated them on their recent achievement of graduating.

The group of servers, graduating from high school, were treated to a fun filled night in which they were presented with a delicious meal, a token of appreciation, and words of wisdom. Throughout their time working at Edgewater, students and residents alike gain a special bond that carries over even after the students have moved on.

As Chris Rosenbaum, President of the Resident’s Association Board said, “At Edgewater Pointe Estates we have a very nice wait staff -- they have become almost like family. They brighten the day each day they come to work, and the best part about it is that we get to see them grow and mature on a daily basis.” This sense of extended family is one of the reasons that residents who move into Edgewater from Boca Pointe wish they had moved in sooner.

The attention to detail paid to each and every plate in the dining room, mixed with the fresh and smiling faces of the student servers make dinner more than just a meal -- it is an experience. On any given night the residents have six to eight choices of entrees. These chef-inspired, mouthwatering meals range from home-cooked comfort of meatloaf and mashed potatoes to steak or salmon. For this special occasion the honored students were able to invite their family to join them in the dining room and eat along with residents they normally serve. They were given the choice of delicious roast tenderloin, salmon Floridian, or chicken Rossini, and in fact many of the parents could be overheard saying “Gosh I can’t wait to turn 62 so I can move in! The food is stupendous!”

Edgewater Pointe Estates is a place of opportunities, from the many activities to participate in on a daily basis to the amazing food served by the student servers. Armed with the words of wisdom given by the residents at their dinner, these seniors will go on to achieve great things in their life. They have the world at their feet, and as Dr. Seuss once said “They have brains in their head. They have feet in their shoes. They can steer themselves in any direction they choose. They are on their own. And they know what they know. They are the ones who’ll decide where to go.” To learn more about this fully accredited, award winning, not-for-profit ACTS Retirement-Life Community, please call Barbara or Diana at 391-3114.
